Halloween!

So the weather held up for Trick or Treating and it actually turned out to be an awesome night. The kids had so much fun going Trick or Treating. Madisyn has been driving me nuts for the last month wondering when it was time to go! Both of the kids picked their costumes. Keagan wanted to be Spiderman and Madisyn wanted to be a princess. They were cute!

As you can see Madisyn likes to pose for pictures!

My friend Jen and her family came with us as well. It was fun to see all of the kids so excited. This was Juaquin's (Jen's son) first Halloween that he went Trick or Treating so it took him a little bit to get the hang of it. Once he did he wouldn't say "Trick or Treat" he would say "Candy". It was hilarious!

Juaquin wasn't in to the whole picture taking thing

My niece Jordee came Trick or Treating with us at the very end of the evening. She had all ready gone with her mom and dad but they all came over to spend the rest of the evening with us. She was dressed in the frog costume that Madisyn used two years ago and Keagan wore last year. Always good to recycle!

By the end of the night Keagan was so done with wearing the Spiderman mask. As you can see he was a little mad in this picture...

Another special thing about this year is that my mom and dad got to come to Boise for Halloween. They had a really good time with the kids!

Happy Birthday Madisyn!

My little Princess turned 4 years old on October 14th. I can't believe this little chicken that almost didn't make it at birth is 4 years old and healthy. We had a Tinkerbell themed party. I don't know why. It just was a last minute decision because we went to pick out Madisyn's cake and she chose Tinkerbell so the rest of the party decorations kind of followed the theme.

We also had the kids paint pumpkins for the birthday party. The kids really had a good time making a mess and all of the pumpkins turned out really cute!

Summer, Summer, Summer!

Well Summer is finally over! I don't really find this to be a good thing but I live in Idaho so it is what it is. This summer has been a blast. The kids and Shane and I went on our annual camping trip in Cascade Idaho. It was beautiful! The spot we go to has a private lake that is just gorgeous. It is so nice to get away from the cell phones, TVs, etc. at least once a year.
The lake at the campsite we go to I don't know how they do it, but it seems like the minute the kids step out of the car they are instantly black from being so dirty. This makes me crazy! I think I need a camp trailer so that I can give the kids a bath each night. But for now we are hard core tent campers.

Shane and I also went to the Journey/Heart concert this summer. It was a lot of fun...but very loud! I know I am getting old when I go to a concert and complain that is was too loud. Heart was surprisingly awesome. It was a little weird to see the lead singer of Journey because he is a little Asian rocker from the Philippians. The rest of the band is still old school looking. It was fun though!

Hard to get a good picture of the concert

Thank Goodness for Husbands!

Shane has been out of town for the last two weeks. I didn't realize how nice it is to have someone helping with the kids and to help around the house. I had to mow the lawn, clean the house, get oil changes and registrations for the car, take the new puppies we have to get shots along with cher, our pomeranian, to get a rabies shot, etc., etc. It was a busy two weeks. All this of course while working a full time job! Also come to find out, the puppies have a yeast infection in there ears so I had to go back and get medication for them and keep the kids away from them. Who knew that dogs could get yeast infections? Let me tell you... I can't wait till the puppies new owners come to get them. They are cute but I am tired of picking up poop.

Shane has been working way overtime lately. I think he ended up working about 60 or 70 hours in a week. Nice to have the extra money but we miss him. We are so proud of him though. He is such a hard worker. He also just applied for a management program at WinCo Foods so hopefully he can get that new position. My grandma and Papa came to help me out for a few days and it was so nice to have them here. Shane and I are so lucky to have them in our lives. They are very special people.

The kids were so good while Shane was gone. They are getting to the age where you can actually carry on conversations with them. It is so wonderful being a mom. Keagan is learning to potty train. He is doing so good! I kind of held off for a while with him because I pushed it on Maddy to early and she wasn't ready. But Keagan is ready and loves being a big boy. We still have a lot of work, but soon enough he will be able to wear big boy undies. Madisyn is the best big sister. She really helps me with Keagan and really loves her little brother. She teaches him new things everyday. It is amazing to watch. I love them so much!

My mom and dad came into town one of the weekends too. It was such an awesome weekend! We went to garage sales in the morning and BBQed on Saturday night. We were able to hang out with my little brother, Jared, his wife, Hannah, and their little girl Jordee. Madisyn and Keagan just love their cousin Jordee. Also my sister, Nicole, was with us which was also very nice. Her husband Mike came back into town on Sunday from being gone a month for work. Madisyn and Keagan also adore their Uncle Mike. We are so blessed to have a big happy family!

We just found out my cousin Meredith got engaged. It is exciting! We never get to see that side of the family because they live in California. The only time we get to see them is if someone is getting married so we were all anxiously awaiting for the proposal. Congrats to Meredith and Anthony! Now just waiting for the special date to be announced so we can plan our trip to California.
